In this tutorial, we will show you how to repair Master Packager application. If the master packager tool is crashing on your PC or fails to launch properly, you can repair the application with easy steps.

Master Packager is an application packaging tool to create and edit Microsoft Windows Installer (MSI) files and repackage other installations to MSI format. This is a very useful tool for administrators who work on packaging applications with Intune and SCCM.

In our previous article, we demonstrated multiple methods to install fonts using Intune. Master Packager is one of the methods for deploying Windows fonts with Intune. The tool packs the Windows fonts into a .msi installer and makes it easy to deploy.

When you install Master Packager for Intune or Configuration Manager, by default, the installer comes with a repair option. If problems arise with Master Packager, you can use this repair option to fix them.

We’ll now go through the steps to repair the Master Packager tool. First, close the Master Packager application (in case it is open). Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features. From the list of programs, select Master Packager and now click on Repair.

The Master Packager program repair begins now. The repair option for Master Packager runs the backed-up installer, and this installer then compares the local installation with its manifest and replaces missing or corrupted files, registry keys, or DLL registrations.

Although the Master Packager repair is performed in the background, no confirmation is provided when the process is completed. To confirm if the Master Packager has been repaired, you will need to examine the event logs. Launch the Event Viewer on the computer and go to Windows Logs > Application. Look for the event IDs 11728, 1035, and 1042 that log the Master Packager repair operation.

Event ID 1035 confirms that the Master Packager has been successfully repaired.
