In this deployment guide, I will show you how to deploy Adobe Air with Intune effortlessly. We’ll install the latest version of the AIR app from the Enterprise App Catalog on our Intune-enrolled Windows devices.
Microsoft Intune Enterprise App Management allows you to effortlessly locate, deploy, and update applications from the Enterprise App Catalog. The catalog is a collection of pre-configured Microsoft and non-Microsoft applications (Win32 apps) hosted by Microsoft.
AIR SDK by Harman is a cross-platform framework that can be used in the development of applications and games. It provides features like a hardware-accelerated 3D graphics framework, multimedia and streaming video capabilities, and multi-window business application support.

According to Adobe, starting June 2019, Adobe will transition the ongoing platform support and feature development of AIR to HARMAN. If your organization uses AIR SDK for developing apps and games, you should contact Harman for any support-related issues.
In one of my earlier guides, I covered silent deployment of Air using SCCM. ConfigMgr required extensive configuration before deployment, but Intune makes the process simple and straightforward.
Deploy Adobe Air with Intune
With Intune, you can either package the Adobe AIR app as a Win32 app or install it from the enterprise app catalog for deployment. If you wish to deploy Adobe AIR as a Win32 app, I have published a guide on Win32 app deployment in Intune that you can follow.
When you install apps from the Enterprise app catalog, you get the latest version of the app installed and the app is updated automatically in the future. So you don’t have to worry about manually patching the app for your users.
Step 1: Add Adobe Air app to Intune
Follow the below steps to add the Adobe Air app to Intune:
- Sign in to the Microsoft Intune Admin Center.
- Go to Apps > Windows and select Add.
- In the Select app type pane, click on the drop-down and select the Enterprise App Catalog app.

Click on Search the Enterprise App Catalog to find apps you would like to add to your tenant. In the search box, type “Adobe AIR,” and from the search results, select the Adobe Air app. Click Next.

On the Configuration tab, you’ll see the following details about the Adobe AIR app package:
- Package name: Adobe AIR
- Language: en-US
- Architecture: x86,x64
- Version: 51.1.2.2
To proceed, click the Select button.

Step 2: Configure App Information for Adobe AIR
On the App Information tab, you’ll notice that most of the AIR app information is pre-populated by Microsoft. This includes details such as name, description, publisher, app version, etc. You can configure a logo for the app that appears in the company portal for users. Scroll down to the bottom and choose a logo for the Adobe AIR app.
Once done, click Next

Step 3: Configure Program Information for Adobe AIR app
On the Program tab, you’ll notice that the installation and uninstall commands for the Adobe AIR app are pre-populated for you. You can also configure the app installation time in Intune from the default 60 minutes to a custom value. If everything looks good, click Next.

Step 4: Adobe AIR App Requirements
On the Requirements tab, specify the hardware and software requirements that devices must meet before the Adobe AIR app is installed:
- Operating system architecture: 64-bit.
- Minimum operating system: Click the drop-down and select the minimum OS.
You may configure other information, such as disk space required, physical memory required, minimum CPU speed, and logical processors. However, these are optional.
After you have configured the above details, click Next.

Step 5: Detection Rules
Here, you can configure the app-specific rules to detect the presence of the app on Windows devices. Thanks to Microsoft, the Adobe AIR app detection rules are created for you, and you don’t have to create new ones. Click Next.

Step 6: App Assignments
On the Assignments tab, choose the groups to which you want to deploy the app. What I recommend is testing app deployment on a pilot group consisting of a few users and devices. If the app deployment is successful, you can scale it up to a larger set of users or devices.
You may assign the app as required or make it available for enrolled devices. Based on the business requirements, select the appropriate option and click Next.

Step 7: Create Adobe AIR app in Intune
On the Review+Create tab, review the values and settings that you entered for the Adobe AIR app installation. Verify that you configured the app information correctly. Click on Add App to add the AIR app to Intune.

Sync Policies
After assigning the Adobe AIR app to the device groups in Intune, the devices will get the app when they check in with the Intune service. You can also force sync Intune policies on your computers in case you don’t find the app installed or listed in the company portal. See also how to resolve Intune Company Portal issues if you encounter issues with the company portal app.
Monitor Adobe Air App deployment
After you have assigned the app to the device groups, you can track the deployment to see how many devices successfully installed the Adobe AIR app and how many failed or were not installed.
In the Intune admin center, go to Apps > All Apps and use the search box to locate the AIR app. Select the application, and on the Overview blade, you can see how many users or devices have successfully installed the app.
The screenshot below shows that the Adobe AIR deployment is successful on our devices. For the remaining devices, the deployment is in progress, and once that is completed, the dashboard will be updated.

Verify App Installation
To verify if the Adobe AIR application installation is successful, sign in to one of the Windows devices. Launch the Control Panel and go to Programs > Programs and Features. In the list of installed programs, verify the presence of Adobe AIR.

Most users find it difficult to locate Adobe AIR on their PC. Don’t worry, the below information will help you find it on your Windows 11 PC.
The application installer for Adobe AIR 32-bit is located at:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe AIR\Versions\1.0\Adobe AIR Application Installer.exe
The application installer for Adobe AIR 64-bit is located at:
