Add the Google Chrome app to Intune
In this post I will show you how to add Google Chrome application to Intune. You can use the same procedure to add other available android apps in Intune.
After you approve the app, you can then use an Intune app configuration policy to configure Google Chrome for Android devices. The settings for the app can be automatically applied.
First of all you must connect your Intune tenant account to your Managed Google Play account. I am not going to cover this in this post but I will publish a separate post on that soon.
Secondly the user’s Android Enterprise device must be enrolled in Intune. To enroll your android device to Intune, please read this post.
Add the Google Chrome app to Intune
Use the below steps to add Google Chrome android app to Microsoft Intune.
- Sign in to the Microsoft Endpoint Manager Admin Center.
- Select Apps > All apps > Add. Next add the Managed Google Play app.
- Go to Managed Google Play, search Google Chrome and approve.
- Assign Google Chrome to a user group as a required app type. Google Chrome will be deployed automatically when the device is enrolled into Intune.
Let’s look at some screenshots that will help you to perform this task.
In the Microsoft Endpoint Manager Admin Center, first click All apps and then click Add.
Under Select app type, click Managed Google Play app. Click Select.
On the Managed Google Play screen, search Google Chrome app and select it.
Approve the Google Chrome app by clicking Approve button.
On the permissions screen, click Approve.
On the Approval settings box, select Keep approved when app requests new permissions. Click Done.
Notice that Google Chrome app now shows Approved label.

Finally after you approve the Chrome app, you must assign Google Chrome to a user group as a required app type. Google Chrome will be deployed automatically when the device is enrolled into Intune.
