Version 2503 of SCCM CB upgrade includes KB30385346 and KB30833053 hotfixes. By upgrading to 2503, you ensure your Configuration Manager environment is patched with the latest updates and bug fixes.

KB31909343: List of issues fixed in SCCM 2503

Here are the list of issues fixed in SCCM 2503 KB31909343 update:

1. The SMS Executive service (smsexec.exe) can terminate with an unhandled exception on sites using orchestration groups.

2. Windows Server 2025 support is updated to include targeted application deployments. You can also install client on this server version and even deploy it through task sequence.

3. The Configuration Manager console can terminate when running the Create Automated Deployment Rule Wizard. Several other potential crashes are also corrected in this release.

4. Missing “Provide Feedback” icons are restored to many wizards in the Configuration Manager console. The feedback submission process is also updated to prevent false errors messages.

5. The servicing state of Windows 10 21H2 is updated to indicate it’s out of support.

6. The status message viewer can terminate unexpectedly when viewing numerous messages.

7. The BGBSetup.log file is updated to correct misleading return codes.

8. Clients are unable to communicate with a cloud management gateway in environments where Microsoft Entra authentication is disabled.

9. A known issue where the Distribution point installation can fail when using an alternate account is now resolved in KB31909343.

10. Windows Server Updates Services (WSUS) location requests return an incorrect error message when verbose logging is enabled.

11. In the previous version of ConfigMgr, the Software metering failed to run on Arm64 client devices. The client.msi log file contained the entries similar to the following.

12. Clients can fail to install applications in environments using SQL AlwaysOn. Errors similar to the following are recorded in the MP_Location.log file.

13. Content location lookup requests can fail on clients with numerous IP addresses bound to a single network adapter. Errors similar to the following are recorded in the MP_Location.log file.

Known Issues

There have been no reported issues reported with the Configuration Manager 2503 update. If all the prerequisites are in-place, the upgrade should go smoothly. This version will remain supported until September 2026, with occasional hotfixes anticipated from the ConfigMgr product team.
