Most users are not even aware of the fact that LinkedIn integration is already enabled in Office apps. If you’re not going to use this feature at your work, you can manually turn it off from the MS Office apps.

Let’s see how you can find out if the LinkedIn features are enabled in your desktop Office apps. First, launch an Office app such as Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, or Excel. Click on File and select Options. On the General tab, scroll down, and under LinkedIn features, you can find out if LinkedIn features are enabled for your Office applications.
Turn off LinkedIn features for Office apps
Here’s how you can turn off LinkedIn features for Office apps on your local computer. Launch an Office app such as Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, or Excel. Click on File and select Options. In the General section, under LinkedIn Features, clear the checkbox “Enable LinkedIn features in my Office applications,” and click OK to save the changes.
Restart the Office applications that are currently open in order for the changes to take effect. The LinkedIn integration will be disabled from the app upon the subsequent launch.
Disconnect your LinkedIn and work or school accounts
If you’ve connected your LinkedIn account with your Microsoft work or school account, you can disconnect them at any time using the following steps:
- Navigate to https://myaccount.microsoft.com/settingsandprivacy/privacy.
- Sign in to your Microsoft work or school account.
- Under Services, select LinkedIn.
- Click Revoke these permissions.
