While updating the Microsoft Store apps on my Windows 11 PC, I encountered the error “Something happened on our end.” Multiple store apps failed to update. But don’t worry; I will show you how to resolve this error.

Normally, when you install Windows 11, the MS Store apps are automatically updated in the background. You can also use the winget upgrade command-line tool to manually update Windows 11 apps.

However, in some cases, you may encounter an error when updating MS Store apps or even with the Microsoft Store itself. In such cases, the error code is crucial in determining the solution.

Fix Something happened on our end while updating MS Store apps

The error “Something happened on our end” typically occurs while updating the Microsoft Store apps, either because you have network connectivity issues or because Microsoft Store is corrupt. Fixing the connectivity issues or resetting the MS Store resolves this error.

In the screenshot below, you can see that two of my apps, including Microsoft Photos, failed to update. There is no error code; it just says something happened on our end. The Retry option didn’t work for me, and I had to try the below-listed solutions.

Solution 1: Fix Internet Connectivity issues

If your Windows 11 PC isn’t connected to the internet or if there are connectivity issues, the MS Store app will fail to update. You’ll need to talk to your ISP if the internet is down. Otherwise, you can try the below steps to fix connectivity issues on your PC.

  1. First, unplug the power cable for the modem from the power source.
  2. Wait at least 30 seconds or so.
  3. Plug the modem back into the power source.
  4. On your PC, launch the Microsoft Store app and try updating the apps.
