Windows 11 includes a built-in feature that allows users to share Wi-Fi passwords via QR code. On Windows 11, users can go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi and create their own Wi-Fi QR code.

A QR (Quick Response) code is a type of barcode that can be scanned with a smartphone camera. It is more convenient and secure for users to share Wi-Fi passwords when they use a QR code instead of sharing passwords with others in Windows 11.

Once the Wi-Fi QR code has been generated, you can scan it using the camera on your mobile device. This QR code contains the following information about your Wi-Fi network: Network name, password, and the encryption type (WEP, WPA, WPA2, or none).

Scanning the Wi-Fi QR Code

You do not need any third-party apps to scan the Wi-Fi QR code because the built-in camera app on your mobile or tablet can do that. Installing third-party apps for scanning Wi-Fi QR codes can pose a security risk for your device.
