This tutorial demonstrates how to suppress program notifications for SCCM package. From the existing SCCM package properties, you can suppress the program notifications for users with few simple steps.

A package deployment is preferred over application when you deploy admin tool, scripts, etc. Configuration Manager 2007 and later support deploying packages, and most organizations still use it.

When you deploy a package in SCCM to the clients, users see a “New Program is Available” notification in the system tray. This notification informs users that a new deployment is available. The user can learn more about this deployment by clicking on the notification, which opens the software center and displays additional information about the deployment.

When you deploy multiple packages, users may see multiple Software Center notifications during work, which is annoying. When you suppress the notifications for SCCM package deployment, users will not see any notifications related to the deployment.

Disable Notifications vs Suppress Notifications for Package

Disabling notification and suppressing a program notification in SCCM are two different things. When you suppress the notification for a package deployment, you are simply hiding it from users. Disabling the notification means completely hiding notifications for all SCCM deployments, including applications, packages, and task sequences.
