Few months ago, Facebook announced new tools to help people track the time spent on Facebook and Instagram. So with these new tools, you can now track your usage time on Facebook and Instagram. Many people actually use these apps a lot, but they aren’t really sure of how much time they’re spending on Facebook and Instagram.

Before you proceed, some important info.

  • The usage time feature is focused solely for mobile users.
  • This feature is not available for users who access Facebook or Instagram via a desktop or laptop computer.
  • The app only tracks usage by device. Therefore if you check in on multiple devices a day, it’ll be harder to track actual usage time on both Facebook and Instagram.

As per post published on Facebook newsroom, “We want the time people spend on Facebook and Instagram to be intentional, positive and inspiring. Our hope is that these tools give people more control over the time they spend on our platforms. And also foster conversations between parents and teens about the online habits that are right for them“.
