While working on Desktop Analytics portal, I noticed the Desktop Analytics Feature down for maintenance error. I had never seen this error before and I was curious to know about this.

Desktop Analytics is a cloud-based service that integrates with Configuration Manager. With the help of Desktop Analytics insights, you can easily find the update readiness of your Windows clients.

Desktop Analytics Feature Down for Maintenance

In case you have setup Desktop Analytics and if you notice Desktop Analytics feature down for maintenance, you don’t have to worry. This error message “This feature is down for maintenance” should go off automatically.

Notice the message just below the title. On-demand snapshot generation is currently undergoing maintenance. Please try again later. Your regular daily snapshots will continue to process.

There is no option to click Apply Changes, the button is greyed out.

According to Microsoft, the on-demand snapshot feature is turned off for a while during deployments. However the feature is enabled back in sometime. So if you notice the same issue, you can simply wait for sometime and the error should be gone.
